Press ReleasesThe President received letters of credence from Armenian ambassadorTuesday, November 8, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė accepted letters of credence from Ambassador Ara Aivazian of Armenia. The President congratulated the first ambassador of Armenia who resides in Lithuania and wished to contribute to strengthening the relations between the two countries and to promote closer cooperation of Lithuania and Armenia. According to the Ambassador, it is in the interests of Armenia to use Lithuania's integration experience and Armenia expects close interaction in this sphere. Dalia Grybauskaitė promised to share the experience gained by Lithuania and to support Armenia's aspirations for closer relations with the European Union. The 42-year-old Ambassador, educated in oriental and political sciences, in the course of his diplomatic career served as Armenia's ambassador to Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Armenia were established on 21 November 1991. Ara Aivazian is Armenia's third ambassador to Lithuania.
