Press ReleasesThe President received credentials from UK AmbassadorTuesday, June 28, Vilnius - President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė received letters of credence from the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, David Hunt.
Welcoming the new ambassador, the President underlined that both Lithuania and the United Kingdom were interested in close cooperation on the international arena - within the European Union and NATO. The President and the Ambassador also discussed future negotiations on the EU's new multiannual financial perspective for 2014-2020.
The President also noted the importance of cooperation between Lithuanian and UK law enforcement authorities.
David Hunt had worked for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office at the Department for North America of (2001-2003), the Department for the United Nations (2003-2004), the Department for Conflicts (2008) and also at the UK Embassy in Zagreb, Croatia (2005-2008). Press Service of the President |
