Dalia Grybauskaitė congratulated the new President of the European Parliament

Wednesday, January 18, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to the new President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz.

"It is with great pleasure that I remember our fruitful conversations and cooperation in Brussels. I especially appreciate the sincerity of your enthusiasm and your strong intention to take dynamic steps toward restoring public confidence in the European integration process. In 2013 Lithuania will preside over the European Council. I am confident that - as Lithuania prepares for the presidency and holds it - we will work together closely and effectively in the interest of a united and strong Europe," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.

Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the EP President the best of success in discharging the important and responsible duties of his position.
