The President congratulated King Juan Carlos of Spain on National Day

Wednesday, October 12, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations on behalf of the Lithuanian people and on her own behalf to His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain on the occasion of the National Day of Spain.

"Twenty years ago, on October 7, 1991, Lithuania and Spain renewed their diplomatic relations, disrupted not by our wish. Since 2004 - when Lithuania joined the European Union and NATO - we have been working together towards a safe and prosperous future of the European continent, addressing in a uniform way issues of concern to all of us. On this occasion, therefore, I wish Your Majesty and the people of Spain continued good health and I have strong hope that our bilateral relations will produce new initiatives of importance to the whole of Europe," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
