Press ReleasesDalia Grybauskaitė presented letters of credence to Lithuania’s ambassador to SpainTuesday, March 2, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė presented letters of credence to Audra Plepytė-Jara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Spain.
According to Dalia Grybauskaitė, the appointment of Lithuania's new ambassador to Spain will open fresh opportunities for the two countries to cooperate even closer in addressing EU agenda issues and will further promote bilateral contacts in the fields of economy, culture and science.
Audra Plepytė-Jara joined diplomatic service in 1994. In 1999 she served at the Lithuanian Embassy in the United States of America. The same year, she started working at the Permanent Mission of Lithuania to the United Nations. In 2002 she was appointed Deputy Head of the Mission. From 2004 to 2008, Audra Plepytė-Jara served as Minister-Councellor at the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union. Before her appointment to Madrid, she headed the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry's Personnel Department. Press Service of the President |
