Press ReleasesDalia Grybauskaitė presented letters of credence to Lithuania’s ambassador to FinlandWednesday, June 15, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė presented letters of credence to Lithuanian Ambassador to Finland Arūnas Jievaltas.
During their meeting, the President underlined the need to strengthen Lithuanian-Finnish relations in all areas without exception. "In the past several years, the relationship between Lithuania and Finland has become closer, and the situation is therefore favorable for the further development of both political dialogue and business ties," the President said.
Arūnas Jievaltas (43) graduated economics at Vilnius University. He worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Lithuanian Mission to the European Communities, Lithuanian embassies in Poland and Finland. He has done extension courses in the United States of America and Japan. Arūnas Jievaltas speaks English, Russian and Polish.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė visited Finland on October 7, 2009. The President of Finland, Tarja Halonen, was in Vilnius at the celebrations of the 20 Anniversary of Lithuanian Reestablished Independence on 11 March 2010.
