EU leaders in Brussels have endorsed the Compact for Growth and Jobs which sets out measures to boost economic growth and jobs in Europe. The European Council meeting has also approved country-specific recommendations for enhancing economy in each EU member state.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė attended the United Nations Global Conference on Sustainable Development, RIO+20. The President delivered a speech at a plenary session and chaired, at the invitation of President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil, one of four high level UN Dialogues where representatives from 70 countries discussed how to get balance between economic growth and environmental protection.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė made a state visit to Latvia where she met with Latvian President Andris Bērziņš, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis and Speaker of the Parliament Solvita Āboltiņa. The Presidents discussed the aspects of bilateral and regional cooperation, joint energy projects and their positions in negotiations on EU's new financial perspective, with the highest focus on the strengthening of energy security.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė attended an informal meeting of the European Council in Brussels which focused on economic situation in Europe. The Lithuanian leader underlined that the economic situation in the European Union was still complicated and, therefore, the need to pursue stringent fiscal policies remained.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė attended the NATO Summit in Chicago which focused on the strengthening of collective defence, the missile defence system, the mission in Afghanistan, and new threats. The President underlined that at this Summit Lithuania had achieved and reaffirmed all the goals it sought to ensure the security of our country and people.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė had a bilateral meeting in Kiev with the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych. In Kharkov, the President met with Mikhail Dobkin, the Governor of Kharkov Region, and visited former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in hospital.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė, during her working visit in Qatar met with the Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar, Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, to discuss the prospects for cooperating in the energy sector and gas supply to Lithuania. The meeting included the introduction of the project of the liquefied natural gas terminal under construction in Lithuania.
