The President congratulated His Holiness on behalf of the people of Lithuania and presented him an original Lithuanian Palm Sunday flower - verba - which was specially made for the occasion by the women from Vilnius district.

President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė paid an official visit to Denmark. The President met with Speaker of the Danish Parliament Mogens Lykketoft, Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, visited the Royal Library of Denmark, and had a meeting with the young people from Lithuania who are studying in Denmark. During her visit the President was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė attended a European Council meeting the agenda of which included the enlargement of the European Union, defence and security policies, and the discussion of measures to ensure long-term economic stability.
