Condolences

I was profoundly distressed to hear about the tornado that swept through Oklahoma City suburbs, leaving more than 90 people dead and many more injured.
 

Dear Mr. President, the people of Lithuania and I were deeply grieved to hear about the earthquake in China's Sichuan province, resulting in the loss of several hundred innocent lives. I extend sincere condolences to the victims' families, to you and to the people of China. I wish you strength and fortitude.

 
Personally and on behalf of the Lithuanian people, I would like to express our deepest condolences on the passing of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
 
I offer my sincere condolences on the loss of Her Royal Highness Princess Lilian. In this hour of deep sorrow, I wish Your Majesty, members of the Royal Family and those close to Princess Lilian fortitude and hope.
 
Please accept my condolences and those of the Lithuanian people on the loss of more than two hundred lives in a terrible tragedy in the Brazilian city of Santa Maria. In this hour of immense grief, I wish strength and fortitude to the victims' families and to all the people of Brazil.
 
I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of philosopher, historian and translator Professor Arnór Hannibalsson - a very good friend of Lithuania and staunch proponent of close relations between our two countries.

The people of Lithuania and I were deeply distressed to hear about yesterday's tragic coach crash in Switzerland that took the lives of twenty eight people - most of them children - from Belgium.
